FG4 MultiBox Firmware 4.0 Release Notes ======================================= Card Firmwares (FPDL v65 and GMSL v65): --------------------------------------- - No change API: ---- NEW FEATURES: - Optional no-signal video generator. When there is no external signal (on the input of FG4 PCIe card), an internal auxiliary source of video signal may be used as replacement. It is provided by so-called no-signal video generator. The generator is able to track both the resolution and framerate of external signal, so in case of suddenly lost signal, the video source may immediately switch to the generator, without breaking of current video stream. When the external signal appears again, the video source will immediately switch back to the external signal. If the resolution is unchanged, the switch occurs without breaking the current video stream. - Video signal change triggers. Each video capture device is able to generate a trigger, whenever specific changes of input video signal are detected. These changes are: signal occurred, signal lost, signal resolution changed. - CAN captures statistics. Each CAN capture device has its own statistics. Currently, it contains the number of passed and dropped messages. - Video encoders (H.264/H.265) have configurable pixel format and some color space properties. Both encoders may use YUV 4:2:0 pixel format, with selectable Rec.601/Rec.709 encoding and limited/full quantization. Only H.265 encoder may use YUV 4:4:4 pixel format, with fixed Rec.601 encoding and limited quantization. Until now both encoders always used YUV 4:2:0, Rec.601, limited. KNOWN ISSUES: - Sometimes disconnection of input signal is undetected. No EIO from VIDIOC_DQBUF, no V4L2_EVENT_SOURCE_CHANGE, no 'mgb-err' interrupt is increased. As result the video pipeline may remain open, but no frames are flowing through. - It is not possible to capture videos with a resolution exceeding 4096px horizontally or 2160px vertically (4K). - If the Encoder (located at Video Input / Sinks / Video) is set to h264 and the bit rate is configured to 93750100 b/s (93750 kb/s in the Web GUI) or higher, the actual bitrate decreases to approximately 600 kb/s. POWER MANAGEMENT: ----------------- - The dimmed blue LED status ('box off, CAN wake-up triggers active') will be removed once the planned CAN wake-up function becomes active. Web User Interface: ------------------- DASHBOARD: - Added the 'orange' video input status color when the 'No Signal' generator is active. - Clicking on the 'DISK' icon will open the corresponding 'Mount'. VIDEO INPUTS: - Added 'No Signal' generator settings. - VIDEO Sink 'File Writer' switch moved to the File Writer box as 'Recording Enabled'. - Added new settings options for VIDEO 'Encoder'. - PICTURE Sink 'File Writer' switch moved to the File Writer box as 'Capturing Enabled'. CAN / Capture: - Added 'Passed Messages' statistics to verify the functionality of the Capture filtering. TIMERS: - Fixed alignment of period value input borders when resizing the page. TRIGGERS / Connections: - Fixed issue with adding multiple trigger connections in a row. - The full 'Trigger Source' path is now displayed. KNOWN ISSUES (Web User Interface) - Video Input / Input Format / Pixel format (AR24/YUYV) cannot be changed until the frame rate has first been set to a non-default value and saved.
